Key differences with Legacy Landonline Plan Generation

You may notice small differences in the look, navigation, and functionality of new Plan Generation compared with Legacy Landonline.

On this page, where functionality differs from Legacy Landonline, we briefly explain how it works in the new application.

Browser behaviour

It’s possible to have the same dataset open in 2 browser windows or tabs at the same time, for example Plan Generation and Capture. However, this is likely to create data loss issues.

To prevent this happening:

  • ensure you exit Plan Generation before undertaking Capture edits
  • only access Plan Generation from Capture (the Plan Generation icon in the Workflow control panel).

Define diagram options in Define Diagrams

There are 2 icons for each diagram type – Survey, Primary, or Non-primary – 1 for defining by polygon, and 1 for defining by rectangle.

There is no option to define a diagram by circle.

Multi-selecting objects in Layout Plan Sheets

  • To multi-select labels, lines, or coordinates, hold down CTRL and drag a rectangle.
  • When multi-selecting lines by dragging a rectangle, the line needs to be wholly within the rectangle to be selected. This may be changed in the future, so that the line will be selected if at least one endpoint is included inside the rectangle.
  • You cannot multi-select objects when using the Generic select tool.

Selecting labels in Layout Plan Sheets

When you select a label, both the label and its related feature both highlight pink. However only the label is affected by your action (for example move, hide etc.)

Selecting lines in Layout Plan Sheets

Working with diagrams in Layout Plan Sheets

  • If you move a line or label or distort a diagram outside the existing diagram extent, the diagram extent will expand to fit the content. Note: This also applies to hidden features.
  • If there are features outside the page border, a warning message will appear when you attempt to save, preview layout, compile plans, or leave the layout sheets.

and How to move an object on the layout page

Compile plan(s)

When you select Compile plan(s), the Layout Plan Sheets window doesn’t automatically close once the process has been successfully initiated. A success message will appear, and once you have dismissed this you can safely close Layout Plan Sheets.
