Simplify Web Search with map and layer settings

To make Web Search simpler and easier, choose and save the layer and map settings you prefer.

Set and save layer settings

Turn off unnecessary layers

Open the Layer Control Panel on the Map Control Toolbar on the right.

This shows the default view.

Deselect any layers you don’t need by unticking the box to their left.

Select the layers you need

You need at least one layer on so you can select the items on the map.

This example shows how to select Parcels-All layer, which is a useful layer.

Step 1  Select the arrow to the left of Parcels.

Step 2  Make sure Live is selected. Untick Approved if necessary.

Step 3  Open the arrow to the left of Live. Make sure Parcels-all is selected. 

Step 4  Untick the other options under Live (Hydro, Legalisation, Primary, and down to Tertiary).

Or choose your preferred layers.

Save your layers

Select the Current tab at the top of the layer panel.

Disable the Appellation and Area if you don’t need them by unselecting the icons on their left.

Select Save as default view at the bottom to save your layer settings. 

These settings will be in place every time you log in.

Change your map settings and they automatically save

These useful map settings save automatically when you change them:

  • clustering system
  • declutter street address
  • auto-locate
  • show numerical map scale.

Your map settings stay the same each time you log into Web Search, unless you change them again.
