File Format
Requirements: Save files in a TIFF format
Explanation: TIFF is a type of file that an image can be stored as. We are using this format because it is stable, robust, mature, widely supported and can store multiple pages within a single file.
Compression
Requirements: Image type setting of CCITT Group 4 or Group 3 Fax compression
Explanation: CCITT Group 4 Fax is a common method for compressing and encoding TIFF files (it converts them to Group 4). Landonline is also able to upload CCITT Group 3 Fax compression image files. However, it is important to note that CCITT Group 3 Fax compression image files are generally larger than Group 4 and will therefore take longer to upload into Landonline. For this reason, CCITT Group 4 Fax compression image files are preferred.
Note:
Some Group 3 settings could cause the Landonline TIFF converter to not convert and display all the pages.
Colour
Requirements: Black and white images only
Explanation: This reduces the file size. Images cannot be accepted in colour or greyscale in Landonline.
Note:
Titles instruments can now accept Colour & Greyscale PDFs.
Refer to the Release notes for e-dealing users for further details. Existing file size limits still apply.
Resolution
Requirements: The minimum resolution acceptable by Landonline is 150dpi (maximum resolution accepted is 300dpi)
Explanation: dpi – dots per inch. This setting manages image quality and file size.
Pages
Requirements: Scanning software must support multi page TIFF (as well as single page)
Explanation: When a document has multiple pages, it must be submitted as a single multi-page TIFF image.
Choosing your scanner
There is a wide range of scanners available in the market that meets Landonline's requirements. However, your organisation will need to decide which scanner best suits. You should provide these specifications to your current technology supplier in order to make an informed decision.
