Methods you can use to capture existing parcels

When capturing existing parcels there are three methods: 

1. Capture spatially. Only used for parcels shown in the spatial view. 
2. Capture by searching for the appellation or Parcel ID. This is the only method for capturing extinguished parcels that are without a surveyed definition, such as Cross Lease or Unit parcels, but can be used for both types of parcels. 
3. Captured via a LandXML import. This will require the LandXML to include the relevant Parcel ID. 

Searching for a parcel using an appellation can return multiple results. In that instance you may find it easier to use the spatial selection method to avoid linking to the wrong parcel.
