The OIA response provides statistics on rural land applications decided between 25 Aug 2005 (when the Act came into force) up to 31 December 2023.
For purposes of the OIA response, ‘rural land applications’ refers to applications for consent in which the applicants are investing in land with land sensitivity of 'non-urban land' under the Act. The statistics are shown in three tables classified by year, by industry and by application pathway.
