| Background | The Applicant was granted a standing consent under the special forestry test on 22 March 2021. This permits the Consent Holder to acquire up to 6,000 hectares of land in up to 20 transactions by 30 September 2023. This is the seventh acquisition of land under the standing consent. The Applicant intends to continue to use the land as a commercial forest. Approximately 180 hectares of the land is existing commercial forest (pinus radiata) and approximately 55 hectares is unplantable. A small remaining area of unplanted land (approximately 1 hectare) will be planted by the Applicant in the winter 2023 planting season. |
