Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that the proposed activity is one which comes within the provisions of Section 66A of the Land Act 1948 and that the terms and conditions specified in the attached permit will minimise any potential adverse effects of the proposed activity and that, as a result, the adverse effects on the inherent values will be no more than minor. The amendments to the permit document are to comply with the requirements of LINZS45002.

Consent is granted for filming, subject to the following conditions:
The Grantee shall:
- Adhere to the ‘Leave No Trace’ Principles (www.leavenotrace.org.nz), ensure all rubbish is removed and that sites are left in the same or better condition in which they were found.
- Not remove or cut back any vegetation or other natural features, disturb any soil or light any fire on the Operational Area.
- Not at any time cause any building, erection, structure or fence or alteration or addition thereto to be placed or carried out upon the Operational Area.
- Comply at all times with all statutes and regulations and obtain all approvals, consents and authorisations as are necessary for the Grantee to conduct the activities permitted by this Permit.
- Remove and take away or cause to be removed and taken away all materials, structures, contaminants, human waste, refuse, vehicles, equipment and vegetation placed on the site for the purposes and activities.
- Ensure that any damage or disturbance to the surface of the land as a result of the activities allowed by the Permit is restored to its former condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Grantor and Lessee.
- Ensure that all vehicle use is kept to formed tracks. Vehicles must be parked and helicopters must land, on firm ground.
- No vehicles are to access, drive over or park on any heritage features. Helicopters to avoid any heritage features.
- Comply with the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
- Ensure that the activities authorised by this permit will be confined exclusively to the Operational Area and use the Operational Area solely for the activities authorised by this permit.
- Take all reasonable precautions to guard against danger on the Grantor’s land.
- Not to interfere or obstruct the Grantor or his/her agent’s employees or contractors or authorised invitees.
- The permit holder must take all precautions to ensure weeds are not introduced to the Land; this includes ensuring that all tyres, footwear, gaiters and packs used by the permit holder, it’s staff and clients are clean before entering the Land.
- Comply at all times with the provisions of the Biosecurity Act 1993 and the Biosecurity New Zealand guidelines, including compliance with guidelines for limiting the spread of Didymo as published by Biosecurity New Zealand.
- Take all reasonable precautions, in relation to any motor vehicle to prevent the accidental starting of any fire, particularly at times of high fire risk.
- Prepare a fire action plan and keep on-site appropriate fire extinguishers, shovels, and/or knapsack sprayers for use in the event of fire.
- Be aware that the Operational Area could be subject to Part IVA Conservation Act 1987. Therefore, marginal strips may be present within the Operation Area, these are administered by the Department of Conservation and are excluded from this permit.
- No wildlife is to be enticed with food or harassed in any way.
- The Concessionaire shall immediately cease the operation of the drone if there is any indication of wildlife disturbance.
