Landonline unavailable 28 and 29 August 2021

Landonline will not be available on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August to allow Toitū Te Whenua LINZ time for planned system maintenance. This includes our Landonline Web Search and Land Record Search online services.

Most of this work relates to changes to enable the certification and lodgement of Cadastral Survey Datasets using Cadastral Survey Rules 2021 (CSR2021). Minor software improvements and database changes will also be made to help our work in modernising Landonline.

You can find more information about this work (Landonline Release 3.24) on our Landonline releases and system updates page from 27 August.

Landonline will be available from 6am on Monday 30 August.

One-hour webinars for Cadastral Survey Rules in August

Webinars about preparing a Cadastral Survey Dataset in terms of the CSR 2021 and using Landonline will be held on 25 August, 4-5pm and 26 August, 9-10am.  As the content of both webinars will be the same, you only need to attend one.

The sessions will be recorded and made available on our website for those who are unable to attend.

Transition period for Cadastral Survey Rules 2021

The Cadastral Survey Rules 2021 (CSR 2021) come into effect on 30 August 2021. Changes will be made to Landonline to reflect the new rules

During the six-month transition period (30 August 2021 to 25 February 2022) Cadastral Survey Datasets (CSDs) may be certified and lodged in terms of the RCS 2010 or the CSR 2021.

After 25 February 2022, only the CSR 2021 will apply.

New Plymouth legal seminar now 19 October 2021

There’s been a change of date for the New Plymouth legal seminar planned for Wednesday 20 October – it will now take place on Tuesday 19 October.

Toitū Te Whenua LINZ is presenting the seminar in association with the New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa’s Property Law Section and Legal Executives New Zealand.

The seminar can support up to two hours of continuing professional development (CPD) for lawyers and registered legal executives.

The session will provide information on:

  • the role of the Registrar-General of Land, key regulatory updates, including changes to standards and guidelines and other land registration matters
  • practical hints and tips for working smarter when using Landonline
  • a refresher on the Registration Authority’s function, changes to the Landonline terms and conditions, and practical tips to help protect Landonline users
  • an update on the project to modernise Landonline, including recent and upcoming changes.

Look out for your invitation and registration details from the New Zealand Law Society’s Property Law Section or  Legal Executives New Zealand. Event details will be included in the next issue of Landwrap.

More councils using Notice of Change of Ownership

We are continuing to add more Territorial Authorities to Landonline’s Notice of Change of Ownership (NoC) service. To date, the NoC can be used for titles within 10 councils.

Conveyancing professionals can use our NoC to advise the relevant Territorial Authority when ownership on a title changes. Carrying out this process through Landonline has several benefits including improved data accuracy and reduced manual effort.

Notice to Mortgagee update

We’ve updated our list of lending institutions who have subscribed to our Landonline Notice to Mortgagee functionality. Notice to Mortgagee provides lending institutions (banks) with the ability to receive mortgage registration information automatically from Landonline when a mortgage is registered.
