This paper updated Cabinet on the progress of the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SouthPAN) since April 2024.
SouthPAN is a long-term joint Toitū Te Whenua and Geoscience Australia initiative to deliver a satellite-based augmentation system to Australasia. SouthPAN will improve the accuracy and reliability of positioning and navigation services from 5 to 10 meters, to as little as 10 centimetres.
