It’s been a busy start to the year with plenty of applications coming in over December and January. The overseas investment team has been making good progress with assessments and decision making, and we have 21 decision summaries being published today.

Since July 2024, 100% of One Home to Live In applications and 93% of all other applications have been decided within half of their statutory timeframe - an excellent result. No application has exceeded the statutory timeframe for a decision.

As our work supporting Ministers and The Treasury on overseas investment reforms continues, we’re keeping a strong focus on assessing applications carefully and in good time, helping to provide investors with confidence and certainty in the overseas investment regime. We expect to see the higher volumes of applications and the good progress with assessment timeframes continue.

Decision summaries – release of withheld information

A reminder that confidential information in published decision summaries will be withheld for a set period, and we will advise you of the timeframe and expiry date after your application is approved.

If you have information that has been withheld in your decision summary, you will need to contact us prior to the withholding period expiring if there are grounds that the information should continue to be withheld.

We will not contact you before the withheld information is released at the end of the expiry period.
