Due to safety concerns, Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) will be starting work next week to remove some trees near Clutha River / Mata-Au upstream from the Dunorling Street Boat Ramp.

Work is expected to start on Monday 16, December and will take two days to complete, weather dependent.

LINZ Leader – Land and Waterways Lee Farnhill says while it is unfortunate to remove the trees, LINZ has a duty of care to act where safety is concerned.

“The trees currently present a potential risk to the public and safety of the community absolutely comes first.”

Farnhill asks that the community please avoid the area while the work is happening. This work will not impact access to the boat ramp or BBQ area.
