What was proposed?

The proposal was to make Maewa the official name of a suburb at the north end of Feilding.

Outcome

Now official

The existing locality name Maewa was officially altered to apply as a suburb name extending across the northern part of Feilding.

At its hui on 30 April 2024 the Board considered this proposal report, which is updated with the Board’s decision. The proposal was notified for two months so that the public could make submissions supporting or objecting to the proposal.

At its hui on 15 October 2024 the Board considered this report on the submissions, which is updated with the Board’s decision. Because the Board didn’t agree with the objecting submissions received for Maewa, it requested the Minister for Land Information to make the final determination.
