To support the city’s recovery and regeneration following the Canterbury earthquakes, the Government committed to building anchor projects identified in the 2012 Christchurch Central Recovery Plan.
Anchor projects and precincts bring economic, social and cultural benefits to the region, encourage other developments around them and attract people into the central city.
We inherited the responsibility for acquiring the central city land needed for anchor projects in 2016.
