Landonline offline on 20 March

Landonline will be offline all day on Saturday 20 March for disaster recovery testing. This testing is done every 12 months to ensure we can continue to operate if we suffer any type of disaster.
 
We apologise for any inconvenience. We will send a reminder to Landonline users on 15 March.

Proposed new fees for survey and title services

 LINZ is reviewing the fees it charges for survey and title services, including all Landonline fees.
 
We are seeking public feedback on proposed new fees. Please make a submission so your views are considered.

Have your say on survey and title fee changes

Submissions can be made to feesreview@linz.govt.nz. 

We are planning an online session to present the fee proposals on 23 March at 1pm. Please email us at feesreview@linz.govt.nz by 18 March to express your interest in joining the session and we will send you an invitation.

Consultation closes at 5pm on 9 April 2021.

We intend to have any new fees in place by September 2021.

August launch planned for Cadastral Survey Rules 2021

LINZ plans to launch the Cadastral Survey Rules 2021 (CSR 2021) on 30 August 2021. This coincides with a new release of Landonline that will capture, validate and certify Cadastral Survey Datasets (CSDs) in terms of CSR 2021. 

CSDs for surveys already started under the Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010 can still be lodged for another 6 months after that date and will continue to be supported by Landonline. 

The CSR 2021 and the date they come into force will be published on the legislation website in early May 2021. This early release of the rules will enable surveyors to start taking their provisions into account for CSDs that are likely to be lodged after the August 2021 introduction.

We will hold a webinar explaining the transition arrangements and the key changes in the rules at that time.

Legal seminars for 2021

LINZ is presenting a series of seminars in association with the New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa’s Property Law Section (PLS) and Legal Executives New Zealand (LENZ). 

The first of the series will be held in Hamilton and can support up to two hours of CPD for lawyers and registered legal executives.

The aim of the lunchtime session is to provide information on: 

  • the role of the Registrar-General of Land team, and key regulatory updates including changes to standards and guidelines
  • updates from across the business, including where to find information as COVID-19 alert levels change 
  • practical hints and tips for working smarter with Landonline
  • a refresher on the Registration Authority function, changes to the Landonline terms and conditions, and practical tips to help protect Landonline users
  • an update on the project to modernise Landonline, including recent and upcoming changes to Landonline.

PLS or LENZ members/associate members - $60 (GST inclusive)

RSVP by Monday 15 March: LINZ/PLS/LENZ Lunchtime Seminar

This seminar will only go ahead if the event venue is in a region at COVID-19 alert level 1. If the region is in alert level 2 or higher, the event will be postponed and registration fees carried forward to the new date. If an attendee is not able to attend on the new date, contact the PLS within five working days to arrange a refund.

Future events are also planned:

  • by live stream webinar on Tuesday 1 June
  • in New Plymouth on Wednesday 20 October.
