Scrub clearance

10 years - with maintenance rights (ongoing)

The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that inherent values present are minimal. The areas identified on the attached plans have been historically oversown and topdressed, resulting in a dominance of introduced pasture. The proposed spraying is intended to clear scrub and kill off old pasture with the purpose of renewing to maintain good quality feed for stock. On balance it is considered that making it easier to use the land concerned for farming purposes and protecting inherent values can be achieved by implementing good management practises in spraying scrub. Conditions imposed on the consent will mitigate the identified risks associated with the activities.

Consent is granted subject to the following conditions:

1. Scrub clearance by spraying is permitted within the areas outlined in red on the plans attached.
2. Scrub spraying is to be set back a minimum of 10m from waterways and drainage channels.
3. Spraying methods are to be adopted that ensure only the approved areas are sprayed. Spray applicators should be experienced in precision agricultural chemical application, use properly calibrated equipment, and spray in suitable weather conditions.
4. The lessee is responsible for ensuring any contractor operates under the conditions of this consent.

The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
