Background |
The Applicant is a fully integrated forest products company which has been operating in Hawke’s Bay since 1971. The Applicant is well known to LINZ having obtained several consents, most recently in 2022. The Land is currently planted with radiata pine. The Applicant plans to continue production forestry on the Land, harvesting by around 2028. Approximately 40.75 hectares will be unplanted, comprised of native bush (35 ha), infrastructure (5.45 ha) and buffer land (0.3 ha). Consent was granted as the Applicant has met the investor test criterion and the special forestry test criteria. |
