Mitiwai Stream

A small stream near Taharoa (locality) that flows southwest from Orangiwhao (hill) for approximately 4km into the Tasman Sea, southwest of Kawhia Harbour. NZTopo50-BE31 513785 to BE31 488752. Approving an existing name as official. An alternative recorded name for the same feature, Matauwai Stream, would no longer apply.

Te Kakau Bank

An undersea bank centred at -41.5703 latitude, 175.4913 longitude, offshore from the southeast coast of the North Island approximately 5km east of Te Kakau Point. Altered from Kaukau Bank (recorded undersea feature name).

 

Corrigendum - Notice of adopted undersea feature names

In the notice with the above heading published in the New Zealand Gazette, 16 December 2010, No. 173, page 4275, for Kermadec Trench replace '28°05.71'S, 175°47.41'W. Northern New Zealand. Extending from 90km offshore from Gisborne, at 3600m deep, north-eastward for 1,300km to latitude 26°S. Separated from the Tonga Trench to the north by a 6,000m deep sill.' with 'An undersea trench ranging in depth from 4000m to 10047m, extending from Ruatōria Scarp at -35.8099 latitude, -178.8575 longitude, northeastwards to -25.7823 latitude, -175.3645 longitude west of Osbourn Seamount.'

Corrigendum - Notice of valid Crown protected area names

In the notice with the above heading published in the New Zealand Gazette, 22 May 2009, No. 73, page 1669, in the first column replace 'Tenehaun Scenic Reserve' with 'Tenahaun Scenic Reserve'.
