Property section of an NoC

How to complete the Property section of the Notice of Change (NoC) form.

About the property section

The Property section is auto populated from district valuation roll (DVR) data supplied by the relevant Territorial Authority (TA) and the associated Records of titles in the dealing.

The relevant TAs can request that other interested parties such as regional councils or utility companies, like Watercare, receive a copy of the NoC, and that it will be listed in the Property section.

Veolia Water

If the water provider is for Veolia Water, you'll need to forward a copy of the finalised NoC directly to Veolia, as we've yet to automate the process.

1. Check the territorial authority's name.

Check the TA's name in the Territorial/Unitary Authority field has pre-populated correctly.

This field is read only. If there is no matching TA record, such as dealing with a new Record of Title, then the field will contain a drop-down list for you to select the correct TA.

2. Check the valuation reference.

Check the Valuation reference field. This field is read only. If there is no matching TA record, such as dealing with a new Record of Title, then leave this blank for the TA.

3. Add or edit the address of property.

Use the pencil icon to add or edit the physical address in the Address of property fields if incorrect or missing.

Use commas to separate the street, suburb and city.

The NoC will highlight address changes so the TA can update their DVR when they receive the NoC.

4. Check the Records of title.

Review the Records of title. The Records of title fields are read-only. Go to the Instruments & Roles page to make changes to the affected titles.

Differences between valuation references and Records of titles

If there are differences between the valuation reference and associated Records of titles displayed, use the Solicitor/Conveyancer note field in the Transaction section to leave a note to the TA to update their records. Or, contact our Customer Support for help.
