Seabed 2030 is a collaborative project between The Nippon Foundation of Japan and the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO).

We manage a comprehensive biosecurity programme in both the North and South Islands. Our operations specialise in aquatic and land-based pest and weed management, alongside mapping, monitoring, and surveillance of pests and weeds.

The names of the bay and town were the cause of local tensions in the 1920s and 1930s.

This system ensures that investment in sensitive assets (land and residential property, significant business assets, and fishing quota) by overseas persons benefits New Zealand. This is managed under the Overseas Investment Act 2005 (OIA) and the Fisheries Act 1996 (s56 to s57J).

Ship Cove may be an unimaginative name, but it was Cook’s favourite anchorage in New Zealand. It was officially dual named in 2014 by two Treaty of Waitangi settlements.
