What is a sensitive land certificate?
A sensitive land certificate is a document that tells us about the features and qualities of an area of land. If you are applying for consent to acquire any sensitive land, you must provide us with a sensitive land certificate. If you are not sure whether the land you want to acquire is sensitive land, a sensitive land certificate will clarify this for you.
Who provides sensitive land certificates?
Sensitive land certificates are prepared, using our templates, by people with specialist knowledge. This includes:
- lawyers who deal with us regularly
- property service providers, such as:
- Crown property service providers who are accredited by Toitū Te Whenua and practised in providing sensitive land certificates.
Toitu Te Whenua does not recommend or endorse providers of sensitive land certificates. The providers listed above are available to provide that service, but it is for you to ensure that they are capable of providing that service in your case.
