IUGG National Reports

New Zealand is a member of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). LINZ coordinates the production of a national report on behalf of the Geosciences Standing Committee of the Royal Society of New Zealand for presentation at the four-yearly IUGG general assemblies.

Geodetic strategy

The New Zealand Positioning Strategy sets the strategic direction for how the geodetic system will be developed within the broader positioning fundamental data theme for the next 10 years (2014-2024). This strategy builds on previous geodetic strategies and aligns with LINZ’s 10 year vision that ‘the power of where’ drives New Zealand’s success.
