Reasons for decision
The Commissioner’s delegate has determined that granting consent to maintain tracks can be undertaken to improve access and safety without adversely affecting inherent values provided the conditions are followed.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted to maintain existing tracks, subject to the following conditions:
- Maintenance of existing tracks is confined to the existing footprint of the tracks.
- Track maintenance must adhere to best practice guidelines for track construction.
- All machinery brought on site must be thoroughly cleaned to reduce the risk of introducing exotic weeds.
- Maintenance is not to be undertaken during periods of high fire risk.
- An accidental discovery protocol must be followed if any archaeological sites are discovered.
Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
