We manage around 2 million hectares of Crown lands and waterways across New Zealand including many of our treasured lakes and rivers and the South Island high country.
Many of these lands and waterways are threatened by invasive plants and pests. If left unchecked they can take over the breeding grounds and habitats of our precious native birds, fish and plants (including those underwater), destroy cultural sites and damage pastoral lands.
In response we manage a comprehensive biosecurity programme, which expanded in 2020 through the Government’s 4 year Jobs for Nature Covid-19 recovery package.
Our operations specialise in aquatic and land-based pest and weed management, alongside mapping, monitoring, and surveillance of pests and weeds.
