What the decision relates to
Soil disturbance related to irrigation infrastructure

Maintenance to continue for the life of the lease
Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that there are benefits to farming in terms of stock and pasture management and resilience to a changing climate from allowing the lessee to disturb soil for the purposes of irrigation infrastructure. Inherent values have not been identified in the areas, and the works have been undertaken to a good standard and are re-vegetated.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted for soil disturbance, subject to the following conditions:
- Consent is granted for soil disturbance associated with irrigation infrastructure including piping, pivot points and water troughs within the areas shown outlined in blue; and for an irrigation pipeline trench along the single blue line, as shown on the plans attached.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
