Issue 193
Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to our first Landwrap of 2024. We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
In this edition we cover:
- Landonline planned close-down
- Updating Citrix Client software
- Updates to Authority and Instruction forms
Landonline unavailable on Saturday 9 March
Legacy Landonline, Web Search, Dealings, Survey and Land Record Search will not be available on Saturday 9 March to allow time for the deployment of Landonline release 3.30.
It will be available again at the normal start time of 6am, Sunday 10 March.
Legacy Landonline to block unsupported Citrix software from March
From 10 March, Landonline users who are using old and unsupported versions of Citrix Client software will not be able to access Landonline.
This means that Legacy Landonline users will need to update their Citrix Client software in order to gain access.
Our concern is that software no longer supported by a vendor will not receive security updates, subsequently presenting a potential security risk to both users and Landonline.
From late last year, Legacy Landonline users received a warning message during login if they were using an older version of Citrix.
If you are not using LTSR version (22.3.x) and your version number is less than 22.9.x, we strongly recommend you follow these instructions to upgrade your Citrix software now – ensuring ongoing protection and optimum performance.
If updating, we recommend the Long-Term Service Release (LTSR) for Citrix Workspace because this version does not expire until March 2025 and receives fewer automated updates than other versions.
Warnings ahead and close-off dates for unsupported software
Early March
Log-in warnings will extend to further Citrix versions that have reached their end-of-life.
10 March
Most versions that reached end-of-life more than three years ago will be blocked, including those with a version number less than 19.x.
April
All 19.x versions will be blocked.
May – Dec 2024
The system will progressively block all unsupported versions with respective warning messages given two months in advance.
Authority and instruction form templates have been updated
The Authority and Instruction (A&I) form templates on the LINZ and New Zealand Law Society websites have been modernised and include minor updates to clauses 4 and 5 and the “office use only” area.
The Landonline-generated A&I forms can still be used in their current form and will be updated with these changes shortly.
