What the decision relates to
Installing a stock water system and fencing
Duration of consent
10 years for the initial work with ongoing maintenance rights
Reasons for decision
Fencing and installing a reticulated stock water system will provide significant benefits to farming. Impacts on inherent values will be less than minor and the activities will aid in the protection of some inherent values.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted for soil disturbance for fencing and to install a stock water system, subject to the following conditions:
- Soil disturbance is to be kept to the minimum required for safe establishment of fence lines and water reticulation.
- Where the proposed fence line runs through bush or scrublands the lines are placed where the native vegetation is at its thinnest.
- All machinery brought on site must be thoroughly cleaned to reduce the risk of weeds being spread.
- Pipelines are to be installed using a mole plough or similar and the ground consolidated afterwards.
- Disturbed areas are to be revegetated with an appropriate weed-free pasture mix.
- The sub-lessee and all contractors and employees of the consent holder are to be informed of the conditions of this consent and the requirement to comply with them prior to any soil disturbance commencing.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
