What the decision relates to
Carrying sheep and cattle
Duration of consent
Personal to the Holder
Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands grants consent to an exemption to the stock limitation in the lease to allow the leaseholder to carry the following stock:
- 600 wethers from the 1st November to the 1st April
- 100 breeding ewes from the 1st November to the 1st April
- 40 R1-R2 cattle from the 1st April to the 1st June
The stock exemption will make the land easier to use for farming and is within the overall safe carrying capacity of the property.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted for an exemption to the stock limitation, subject to the following conditions:
- The pasture is maintained at a level that sustains the number of stock units allocated.
- The lease is run in conjunction with the adjacent 85ha of irrigated freehold land.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
