We are seeking nominations of members for the next term of the High Country Advisory Group. 

The High Country Advisory Group was established in 2018 and provides LINZ important feedback and advice on the management of 1.2 million hectares of Crown pastoral land in the South Island high country.

The Group has played an important advisory role as recent reforms have been developed and implemented, including the Crown Pastoral Land Reform Act 2022.

The terms of all members will come to an end in April, and current members are able to apply for reappointment.

We are seeking nominations for representatives with knowledge and skills across the following areas:  

  • Crown pastoral lease management
  • Land Act and Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998
  • high country farming
  • tikanga Māori
  • biosecurity
  • biodiversity or environmental sustainability
  • other industry in the high country
  • local government
  • public use of Crown land
  • carbon sequestration and climate change

Nominations are now open and will close on 22 April.

Appointments will be made by the LINZ Chief Executive, with the next term beginning late May.
